Артрелл, Білл. Українське серце Білла Артрелла = Ukrainian Heart by Bill Arthrell : [поезії] / Б. Артрелл. – К. : Освіта України, 2019. – 124 с. : кол.іл. – Назва обкл. : Українське серце. – Назва обкл. англ. : Ukrainian Heart. – Текст укр., англ.
Bill Artrell is an American poet whose work bridges continents, revolutions, and the human spirit. Inspired by the events of the Revolution on the Maidan in Kyiv, he traveled to Ukraine to witness firsthand a nation fighting for its dignity and freedom. This collection of poetry is divided into two parts. Part I reflects the author’s personal journey through Ukraine – his encounters with its people, landscapes, culture, and the living memory of revolution. These poems capture intimate moments, unexpected adventures, and the emotional resonance of a country in transformation. Part II turns to history and politics. Through poetic reflection, Artrell explores the Maidan uprising, the Revolution of Dignity, Russia’s war against Ukraine, and the enduring struggle for Ukrainian independence. His verse confronts violence and loss, but also resilience, courage, and the unbreakable will of a nation. Together, these poems form a testament – both personal and historical – to Ukraine’s ongoing fight for freedom and ident to.

Plokhy, Serhii. The Russo - Ukrainian War / S. Plokhy. – Dublin : Penguin Books, 2023. – 392 p. : il. – Bibliography: p. 309-366. – Index: p. 367-380.
On 24 February 2022, Russia stunned the world by launching an invasion of Ukraine. In the midst of checking on the family and friends who were now on the front lines of Europe's largest conflict since the outbreak of the Second World War, acclaimed Ukrainian-American historian Serhii Plokhy inevitably found himself attempting to understand the deeper causes of the invasion, analysing its course and contemplating the wider outcomes. The Russo-Ukrainian War is the comprehensive history of a war that has burned since 2014, and that, with Russia's attempt to seize Kyiv, exploded a geo-political order that had been cemented since the end of the Cold War.  Plokhy traces the origins and the evolution of the conflict, from the collapse of the Russian empire to the rise and fall of the USSR and on to the development in Ukraine of a democratic politics. Based on decades of research and his unique insight into the region, he argues that Ukraine's defiance of Russia, and the West's demonstration of unity and strength, has presented a profound challenge to Putin's Great Power ambition, and further polarized the world along a new axis. A riveting, enlightening account, this is present-minded history at its best.

Snyder, Timothy. Bloodlands : Europe Between Hitler and Stalin / T. Snyder. – London : Vintage, 2015. – 524 p. – Bibliography: p. 423-462. – Index: p. 507-524.
In the heart of Europe, in the middle of the twentieth century, the Nazi and Soviet regimes murdered fourteen million civilians in the “bloodlands” – the territories between Berlin and Moscow. Over a span of just twelve years, in what are today Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, western Russia, and the eastern Baltic states, more than a million people per year were deliberately killed, victims not of battle but of calculated policies of mass repression and extermination. In Bloodlands, Timothy Snyder offers a groundbreaking investigation into the intertwined crimes of Hitler and Stalin. Drawing on extensive archival research, scholarly literature, and primary sources, he places particular emphasis on the voices of the victims – letters sent home, notes thrown from deportation trains, and diaries found among the dead. The result is a meticulously researched, profoundly humane, and authoritative work that compels readers to reconsider the scale and nature of the greatest tragedy in modern European history – and to rethink how we understand our past.
